Future Nostalgia: Review

Dua Lipa Future Nostalgia
Album art to Future Nostalgia

It's fun, it's fresh and it's exactly what the music industry was craving. I know times can seem a little daunting just now and to be honest overwhelming but rest be assured Dua Lipa has provided us all with a 37 minute escape from all the madness outside.

The whole album has a 2000's pop art narrative, full of female empowerment and self love which to be honest with you is probably exactly what we all need over this self isolation period.

It would be easy enough to say that the whole album is my favourite and I wouldn't be lying, but my go to songs have to be Levitating, Love Again, Good in Bed and Boys Will Be Boys. These are the ones that resonate the most with me and are the most enjoyable.

Although, the album did start off shakily to say the least, after the singers early illegal leak of the album, leaving Due Lipa in tears on instagram expressing her devastation regarding her now scheduled early release of Future Nostalgia, according to 'Somag News.' The faithful fans of the artist though appear to have pulled through due to the shared anger and frustration of the singer that has become apart on social media platforms such as twitter. Multiple posts showing their sympathy with Lipa and their anger for her.

Often when something as hyped as Future Nostalgia is leaked it leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth and things can go south pretty quick. Jeffree Star's concealer anyone? But somehow I think Due Lipa may have been able to avoid that bullet as, as the Rolling Stone put it, the camp disco narrative of this album speaks for itself and the only thing people will remember is the smile on their face.

I think when I say Future Nostalgia is the album of self isolation, I speak for all of us.
