A Life Update:

So I've been a little inactive on here for a while, but it was time for me brush away the cobwebs from the keyboard and get back on here, because at the end of the day I run this blog because I love it. I don't make any money from here and nobody is holding a gun to my head making me type. It's almost although Day Caught Blog is my own little therapy session where I can talk to you guys about fashion, music, travel or just plain ranting (which is what you're in for today so buckle up.)

My 21st

Basically, I've been stressed which believe you and me I am no stranger to. University life and work load has me up to my eyes in work and essays and honestly I've forgotten to eat dinner most nights (which once again most unlike me.) In full honestly I think I've burned myself out. Through having a part-time job, managing uni work, making my birthday preparations and putting them in place whilst still trying to go to the gym and stay in shape with the food I'm consuming I think I might have burned myself out.

I feel like I'm on the opposite end of the stick and I've been doing nothing as I'm too busy stressing about everything that I need to do if that makes sense. But, I am all on board to get back on track especially seen as in a few days I'll be twenty one which is ridiculous and I'm basically an adult now. So, here's what I'm doing about it.

BEDTIME:

The first thing that I had to change was what time I was waking up because I have noticed if I wake up late I feel like I have wasted the day and that, that day is just a write off and is totally pointless, which is a really bad mentality to have however, waking u just a little earlier has helped this tremendously.

FOOD:

As depressing as it is to say, the food that I consume definitely has an impact on my mental health. I still allow myself to occasionally indulge in cheese, chocolate and wine (the three things I can't live without.) But I have made my day to day meal prep a lot healthier this usually consists of avocado on toast but I'll make a blog later on what I actually eat in a day later. Salads have become my best friend and I am no health guru and I know that salads are not the picture of health necessarily, however I like making mines versatile so as I don't feel that my lunches are repetative. Sometimes I'll have a cheese salad, other times I'll have egg salad or a salad wrap, the possibilities are endless and I'm making sure I get at least some good from the salad. These are also helping me to feel more alert and alive throughout the day as I think if I eat heavier meals I tend to be more down and sleepy.

SELF CARE:

This is perhaps the most important one for me, which is funny because its usually the first I let go. But I am getting better at realising that the most important thing is that I am happy and well. I have noticed that I feel my best when I look my best and this is as simple as wearing an outfit I feel good in, actually brushing my hair, doing a little bit of make up each day. The days that I have looked my best are also the days that I am the most productive and get the most done and I am not putting that down to coincidence.

ROUTINE:

Having a routine for me is so important so I know what I need to get done in a day. To aid me in this I have invested in a diary and honestly its crazy how much writing something down on paper makes it seem definite. This is probably the biggest change that has helped me complete my uni work on time.

So there you have it guys, I hope this helps anyone who maybe feels like they have also burned out, just remember that your mental well being is the most important thing and if you are really struggling with uni work speak to your uni about it as they are always willing to help.
