London Diary 2020

Wey Hey it's 2020 and surprise surprise me and John have started off the year by going on a little holibob. I mean it was for his 20th birthday so I think its perfectly justified. As I have previously stated before me and John have more or less came, saw and conquered the touristy parts of London so we usually go down with an itinerary full of events that we fancy seeing in London at that time and this trip was no different.

As you may have read in previous blogs our first day there was spent in Brighton, which was amazing and you can read all about that here ( https://www.daycaughtblog.net/post/brighton-diary ). But my absolute favourite part of the trip is that John was amazing enough to snag us up some tickets to Dear Evan Hansen which is both of our favourite show. I genuinely almost cried when I saw it from the cast to the sets to the songs, it was just all so amazing, and I know that I say this every time but I would see it again in a heartbeat. If you are in London and are able to get tickets please please go because I can promise you that you won't regret it. Afterwards we had drinks and drank into his birthday which was so lovely and I mean you can't really beat a wee drink at spoons can you.

As you will know we are both mad luxury skincare fanatics, meaning we had to make a stop at the pop up Glossier store in Covent Garden. The whole aesthetic of their shop is absolutely everything I mean there's a freakin' pink castle behind us for gods sake! I'll do a blog later on my purchases here to show you all what I treated myself to. However, I think its safe to say this was one of the loveliest events to take John to on his birthday and I heard no complaints.

And of course it wouldn't be us if we didn't fit in at least one museum, this one here is the 'Tate Modern' Museum, which is bloody massive for starters so make sure you build in plenty of time to see everything. The exhibits here are very cool and the place is just brimming with contemporary art pieces which as you by now know is right up our street when we travel. I got some super cool photos here and also think I could go again seen as there was so much to see and do.

What We Ate:

Bill's by now has just become a staple for us in London and Glasgow. This is the halloumi burger and honestly at this point I wouldn't even consider getting anything else for lunch from here ever as it's just so flavourful. Although if you visit here for breakfast then that's a different story as their avocado on toast is to die for. Please can you all just make sure you experience bills at least once. Their interior and aesthetic is also pretty amazing so please check out my other blog posts on London to see more of that. :)

Joe and The Juice was another very cool place where we got avocado toasties and these amazing strawberry smoothies (making me want a smoothie maker even more.) Once again the aesthetic was very cool and we made this a wee pit stop for lunch where we played card games and read our books which overall made for a lovely day out.

Last but not least, here is the place that I took John to buy him some birthday cake (I mean I have to be nice to him at least one day a year right?) But oh my god 'Ole and Steen' was sensational, he just ordered some cake on a whim but it was more like a chocolate covered mousse ball with sprinkles on the top. However, it was very rich and we probably could have gotten away with just having one each but hey ho was probably going to get diabetes sooner or later.

London if you haven't guessed by now is one of my all time favourite places and I have and shall continue to seriously consider living here for a while after I finish uni. I just feel that it is a whole different environment to anything I have experienced before and I love the business and how much there is constantly going on. It is also an amazing place to move to to advance your career. Sorry, I'm rambling on again but London has a special place in my heart and I hope you all enjoy my blog posts on this amazing city because whilst we currently have nothing planned I am sure there will be more to come soon.
